A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER, FRED E. WINTER, ON EXCITING CHANGES AT HERITAGE TRUST

HERITAGE TRUST IS BUILT TO LAST!!!

Dear Clients, Colleagues and Friends of HTrust,

I am writing to let you know of exciting changes at HTrust.

As you may know, I started HTrust in 1993, when I filed an application with the New Mexico Financial Institutions Division to establish the first independent trust company in Northern New Mexico.  On January 11, 1994, a Certificate of Trust Authority was granted to Heritage Trust Company of New Mexico.  Since then it has been quite a journey to get to where we are today – a solid independent trust company with stellar compliance and controls, a sophisticated team of staff members, solid relationships with clients and key partners, and a sound reputation throughout New Mexico.

In the last year, HTrust has exceeded expectations every quarter with our largest assets and number of accounts under management in our history as of March 31, 2022, as well an ever-growing cabinet filled with prospective clients naming us in their estate plans.

With Daniel Montoya at the helm as CEO, and promotions happening within, I am pleased to be able to take a sabbatical this summer.  After 28 years, I have the faith and confidence in our team to be able to trust that all of your needs will be met, and HTrust will continue to grow and offer outstanding services in my absence. But don’t worry I am always just a phone call away, as I remain Chairman of the Board and head of the Executive Committee.  You should also know that I will return to lead the growth of HTrust as Business Development Officer on September 1, 2022.

My plans have triggered exciting changes for our Staff.  Under Daniel’s guidance, Emily Rowlison-Elliott will be promoted to Vice President/Trust Officer; Manuel Vigil will be promoted to Trust Officer; and we are currently negotiating to hire a brilliant new Trust Officer who brings a great depth of experience in Trust and Estate Administration to our Team.  Please join me in congratulating these present and future team members in their new roles.

I want to assure you that I am stepping away for a few months knowing that HTrust has all the tools to grow and thrive in my absence.
